Page 1: Data Protection Statement

This survey is intended for anyone who graduated from a PhD at the University of Glasgow in the last three years (i.e. since June 2016). It aims to gather qualitative data on the careers stories and experiences of recent PhD graduates.

Findings will be used to advise current and prospective researchers on how they can make the most of their PhD experience and manage their transition into work. It will feed into induction and careers workshops /resources, supervisor training and one to one guidance offered through the Career Services.

Survey data will be anonymised: Read the full privacy statement here.

There is an opt-in choice at the end of the survey should you feel comfortable being named as a case study in our report, or if you are happy for R&IS and the Careers Service to contact you at a later point to invite you to contribute to researcher careers events.

You will also receive (or may have already received) a request to participate in the Graduate Outcomes Survey run by the Higher Education Statistics Agency. This normally comes around 15months after Graduation and gathers quantitative data on researcher destinations across the UK. We will use data from our own survey and the HESA survey in tandem, to ensure that current research students get as full a picture as possible to help them in their career choices.

Our survey should take no longer than 20 minutes and there is the option to be entered into the draw to win one of eight £50 Amazon vouchers on completion.
